Icelandic sheepskins are beautiful and naturally colored, but so much more. Sheepskins create a natural thermostatic effect that keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Each fiber can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without seeming wet (cottons limit is 8%) No man-made fiber possesses the virtues of 100% sheepskin. It is naturally non-allergenic, water, dirt, flame and bacteria resistant. It will last for years with minimum care, by brushing, shaking or hanging on a line outside. If needed it can be spot or hand washed with a gentle soap and water.
What can you use a sheepskin for? They are great for sleeping on, they are gentle on the skin, temperature regulating and allow for air flow helping to alleviate rashes and avoid bed sores. They are cushioning and comforting, making them great for infant car seats or strollers; as well as bed underlays, car, wheelchair or saddle seat covers. They make beautiful throws on furniture, wall hangings or rugs; they’ll become your pets favorite place to lay.
