Pasture Raised Eggs
Our organically-fed, pasture-raised egg layers will probably be the first animals you see if you visit us here at Telderer’s Rainbows End Farm. Our heritage chickens roam freely around the barnyard. You’ll see them scratching for insects and taking dust baths under the evergreen trees.
We also have a portable “eggmobile” in the pasture for our other layers. This chicken coop moves through the pastures and serves as a safe home base for the hens at night when they roost. Moving the coop means the hens consistently have fresh forage and the ability to eat bugs, clover, and whatever they desire. The supplemental feed we give to our layers is organic and non-GMO.
The pasture-raised eggs we receive from our layers are like no others in looks, taste, and nutritional value! The yolks of these eggs are a deep golden orange because of their higher beta carotene content, which is up to 7x that of conventional eggs. They have less cholesterol and saturated fat, and more of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D & E. These nutrients are essential to maintaining healthy function of the heart, immune system and brain.
